This announcement was made by Senator Haynesley Benn, Minister of Commerce and Trade. His comments came in an interview with the media after speaking yesterday at the opening of the Regional Conformity Assessment Workshop on Management Systems Certification Practices held at the Courtyard by Marriot.

He made the call while addressing a group that included regional exporters, as well as officials of the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ). They, together with representatives of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the UKAID CARTFund, launched the 'Strengthening the Capabilities of Testing Laboratories in theCaribbean to Reduce Technical Barriers to Trade' project at the CDB yesterday morning.
